Lifeguard Training (LGT) Cost $150.00

This course is a professional level, first responder course. This course will provide skills and knowledge needed to prevent and respond to aquatic emergencies. LGT includes first aid and CPR for the Professional Rescuer. You should be a strong swimmer to pass this course. Successful completion of this course is based upon your class performance and endurance, final skills scenarios, successful performance of all critical skills, and two written test scores of 80% or better.

Prerequisites:

Be at least 15 years of age by the end date of the course

Pass the skills PRETEST which includes surface diving, treading water, and a 500 yard continuous swim

Be a proficient swimmer in ALL of the following strokes, front crawl (freestyle), and breastroke.

Lifeguard Training Instructor (LGI) Cost $125.00

The purpose of this course is to train instructor candidates to teach Lifeguard Training (including first aid), CPR for the professional Rescuer, Lifeguard instructor Aide, and Community Water Safety by developing their understanding of how to use the course materials and methods of conducting training sessions and evaluating participants’ progress. Successful completion of this courses is based upon successfully demonstrating all critical lifeguard skills, successfully completing all practice-teaching assignments, and passing a written examination with a minimum grade of 80% or better.

Minimum age of 17 by the first day of the course responder course. This course will provide skills and knowledge needed to prevent and respond to aquatic emergencies. 3.Successfully complete the instructor course skill PRETEST which includes lifeguarding (rescues, spinal injury management), first aid, and CPR for the Professional Rescuer skills and knowledge evaluation

            4.You must bring you Lifeguard Training textbook, and pocket mask to the course.

Water Safety Instructor (WSI) Cost $125.00
The purpose of this course is to train instructor candidates to teach the Infant and Preschool Aquatic Program; the seven levels of the Learn to Swim Program; the Community Water Safety and Water safety Instructor Aide courses; and, for eligible individuals, the Safety Training for Swim Coaches course. This course includes methodology for analyzing and teaching stroke development in a progressive format. Successful completion of this course is based upon successfully participating in all course activities, successfully meeting instructor candidate competencies, and passing a written test with a minimum grade of 80 percent or better.

Prerequisites:

Minimum age of seventeen by the first day of the course

Possess an Instructor Candidate Training Certificate (ICT) or Fundamentals of Instructor Training (FIT) issued within the last twelve months or a current Health and Safety Services instructor authorization

Successfully complete the instructor course PRETEST with a minimum score of 80 percent or better

Successfully complete instructor course skills pretest consisting of water safety and swimming skills. Please note this course is not designed to teach you the required strokes!

-Long shallow dive into a minimum of nine feet of water, perform a surface dive, retrieve a 10 pound brick, and bring it to the surface.

-Perform a wading assist with equipment. Bring victim safely to side of pool.

-Enter shallow water and approach a face-down victim with a suspected spinal injury. Use the head splint method to establish the airway and maintain in-line stabilization.

-Perform a throwing assist using a ring buoy with a line attached. Bring victim to side of pool.

-Perform a reaching assist from land using equipment.

-Perform a standing front dive from deck.

Perform the following strokes in a skilled manner.

-Front Crawl – 50 yards

-Back Crawl – 50 yards

-Sidestroke – 50 yards

-Elementary Backstroke – 50 yards

-Butterfly – 10 yards

 

Certified Pool Operator (CPO) Cost $150.00
All commercial, public, apartment complexes, condos, hotels, motels, clubs – approximately 9,000,000 need CPO’s to operate their facilities. The CPO course provides training for efficient, effective, economical and safe use of the aquatic facility.

Local and state authorities widely accept the CPO course. The course is a proven educational tool. It covers all topics necessary for pool operators including local and state codes. Successful completion of this course is based upon a passing grade on the written examination.
